Day 1 (Saturday) Arrive Cairo
Transfer to hotel and overnight. If arriving from UK you will be picked up from the airport. If you are arriving from Dahab you will be picked up from the bus terminal after your bus journey from Dahab
Day 2 (Sunday): Cairo – Aswan - breakfast.
A big day out. First to Al Jizah the Giza Plateau to see the pyramids and lion-headed Sphinx. Onwards to Saqqara an ancient necropolis of sand-strewn tombs. Late overnight train to Aswan (very comfortable)
Day 3 (Monday) - Aswan - breakfast box
Arrive Aswan and check into our hotel. Today, you visit the High Dam and travel by boat to the Temple of Philae dedicated to the goddess Isis. Remainder of day and evening free. Overnight - Aswan.
Days 4 & 5 (Tuesday & Weds)- Aswan- Nile cruising - all meals
Optional early morning air excursion to the colossal Temple of Abu Simbel. This afternoon, you board our Nile felucca for a 2-night voyage on the River Nile upstream. Overnight onboard the felucca. All meals included.
Day 6 (Thursday) - Kom Ombo - Edfu - Luxor – breakfast
Disembarking in Kom Ombo, you enjoy a visit to the Temple of Horus at Edfu - a huge complex that began construction in 237 BC! You then continue to Luxor. Home of the legendary Valley of the Kings and Temple of Karnak, 4000 year-old Luxor is ancient Egypt at it’s best. Enjoy some rest and relaxation. Tonight, an optional visit is available to the Temple of Luxor with a restaurant dinner afterwards. Transport is by traditional horse and carriage. The excursion is GBP£8, payable locally. Rest of evening free to enjoy the facilities of the hotel. Overnight - Luxor
Day 7 (Friday) - Luxor – Hurghada – breakfast
Early today, you head to the Valley of the Kings. One of the first sights you’ll see is the Colossi of Memnon. This huge pair of enthroned statues is all that remains of the temple of Amenophis III. See the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut and surrounding tombs. After relaxation back in Luxor, you visit the Temple of Karnak. Later you take a bus to Hurghada.
Day 7 and 8 (Saturday and Sunday): Travel to Dahab
Luxor - Hurghada - Dahab by bus. The journey is on a very comfortable bus. You arrive in Dahab at about 10am on day 8.
