The Diving
Although snorkeling and dolphin watching have been around the Quepos/ Manuel Antonio area for a while, dive travel in this largely unexplored area is in it's infancy. Diving in this area can truly be said to be on the cutting edge of adventure for divers looking for something different. How many places in the world can one dive an area that truly has been unexplored? You can here. We are constantly finding new places to dive, many times with our guests along for the discovery.
The Manuel Antonio coastline with its 12 islands gives you the choice of dozens of local dive sites. The marine life is abundant; schools of Snapper, Jacks, Grunts and Barracuda can be seen on may dives. On the reef you can see Angel Fish, Moorish Idols, Surgeon Fish, Giant Damsel Fish, Puffer Fish, Octopus, Eels & and Crustaceans. In addition, you can expect to see Reef Sharks, Giant Manta Rays, Sting Rays, Sea Turtles.
Activities
When you're not diving or learning Spanish there is ample opportunity to relax and enjoy the local culture. Depending on the length of your stay, there are a number of activities and excursions included in the packages and they are listed below:
Canopy safari
You will sail through the treetops of the typical rainforest conopy and over the trails below. Expert guides will lead you in this exciting adventure into to the heart of the rainforest.
Tour of Mangroves
The mangrove forests is connected by a myriad of choked and hidden waterways. Guests on this highly recommended tour are often rewarded with sightings of white-faced monkeys, giant anteaters, three-toed sloths, exotic bird species, alligators, boa constrictors, rare crab-eating racoons, and the list goes on. A covered motor boat takes you on a cooling ride through the twisted and tangled tunnels of dense mangrove.
River Rafting
With the help of rugged 4X4 vehicles and a skilled team of river experts you'll make your way past Santo Tomas and into the magnificent Savegre Valley . Once on the water, the Rio Savegre will dazzle you with gorgeous sidestreams, hidden waterfalls, abundant wildlife and playful rapids that plunge headfirst into gentle pools below. The Rio Savegre is a most perfect river, a natural Costa Rican treasure, and a favorite among local guides.
Kayaking
This tour starts with the pick up of clients from their accomodations. The trip from Manuel Antonio to the Lamaron bridge takes about 30minutes in one of the microbuses. Once at the river the guides will explain all the necessary safety measures. From this point on you can seee aquatic birds, monkeys and eventually reptiles.
Manuel Antonio Park
Guides will give a description of natural history. There is a variety of animals and the guides will be happy to explain the diverse nature of each one of them. After the walk the park refreshments will be served.
Horse back riding tour
Riding through some of the most pristine forests in the area. After
traveling part way one will come to a large waterfall where the
clients can cool off and or go for a swim.
Dolphin Watch tour
Explore the entire coast from Quepos to the southern limit of the park zone in a Zodiaz style inflatable boat. Besides dolphins, we often see turtles, flying fish, nesting frigates and boobies. The rugged coast has blow holes, caves, the Indian burial island of Mogotes and Indian turtle traps. You will stop to swim and have snacks on the beautiful Biesanz Beach.
Sunset Sailing Cruise
Discover the coast of Manuel Antonio. The peace and serenity of sailing these pristine waters is an unforgettable experience and the sunset from the deck while anchored in a beautiful secluded bay is truly romantic. A morning tour is also available with a snorkeling stop also included.
Quepos Mountain Biking at its Best

A great place to learn Spanish and scuba dive is Quespos/Manuel Antonio - two bordering towns on the fringe of the famous Manuel Antonio National Park. Surrounded by beautiful bays, stunning dive sites and plenty of culture, it is an ideal location to learn Spanish and Scuba Dive.
The dive centre offers outstanding scuba diving adventures for certified scuba divers as well as those that wish to learn in the central pacific coast of Quepos / Manuel Antonio. The centre is part of the PADI International Resort Association and is located in downtown Quepos adjacent to the Hotel Malinche. There are 3 full time instructors all certified by PADI. Several of the instructors have backgrounds in public safety diving instruction for police, firefighter and rescue personnel in the U.S. and Costa Rica. The instructors and dive masters all have years of personal experience in the local environment as well.
We offer a small selection of programmes in Costa Rica. Programmes can be tailormade to suit each individual and PADI courses range from Open Water all the way to Divemaster. Programmes range from 10 weeks to 16 weeks in duration but shorter programmes can be arranged upon request. Please see our
