Programme Details

BridgeThis programme provides orientation as well as learning to dive courses in Sydney / Byron Bay. It is designed for people who are new to diving and require a gentle introduction to life down under!

Transfers and local orientation
The programme starts with you arrving on the Monday morning. You will be picked up from the airport and taken to your guesthouse accommodation. From there you are taken around Sydney on a guided tour. This should allow you to get your bearings and find out where places are before your onward travels. Highlights include Bondi Beach, Captain Cooks landing place in Botany Bay, Cronulla Beach and views of the Royal National Park. Public Transport in Sydney, obtaining mobile phones, banking, shopping and hits about Sydney's MUST DO activities are also explained.

BridgePADI Open Water Course and e-learning
You will start this course in the UK before you leave - it's called e-learning. Using a computer you will start the theory associated with the PADI Open Water course. This means that when you get to Sydney you can jump straight in the water and crack-on with the diving!

Your PADI Open Water will last for 2 days. You wil cover basic skills in a pool, conduct 4 open water dives and learn everything you need to know about the fundamentals of scuba diving.

PADI Advanced Open Water Course
Your Advanced PADI Open Water Course is conducted in Jervis Bay - an area with abundant marine life, cliffs, cracks, drop-offs and large caves to explore. The course will help you increase your confidence and builds your scuba skills so you can become more comfortable in the water. During the in-water training, you will undertake 2 boat dives (a deep dive & a wreck dive) a navigation dive, a buoyancy dive, and an underwater naturalistdive. You also get a free night dive back in Sydney with the seahorses!

PADI Botany Bay Speciality Course - UNIQUE
The last part of the training focuses on marine research. It's only a one day course but it includes 2 survey dives and introduces you to Botany Bay's marine wonders! During the course you will learn how to survey key marine species in Botany Bay and how to monitor the bays' Weedy Seadragon Population.
