It is essential that you take out an adequate insurance policy before travelling with Gap Year Diver. Travel insurance is compulsory and you will not be able to travel unless you are insured.
All our passengers must be fully insured for travel. If you choose to purchase insurance independently, please ensure that the policy provides adequate cover for hospital treatment, repatriation flights home in the event of you being too ill to continue the programme, tour cancellation for personal reasons, personal accident and decompression treatment, diving to a depth of 30m (40m if possible), personal baggage and associated valuables. Cancellation cover must commence as soon as the policy is issued. This will allow you to lodge a claim with your insurer if you have to cancel your journey prior to travel.
Dive Master Insurance ConsultantsIf you are unsure about whom to insure yourself with, Gap Year Diver recommends a company called ‘Divemaster Insurance’. They are able to offer both short and extended stay travel insurance, IDEC cards, professional liability insurance and sports equipment insurance.
If you would like further information about the Insurance policies available please visit their website (www.dive-master.net) or call them on +44 (0)1702 476902
IDEC offers you the best worry-free protection, stretching far beyond standard travel insurance policies. It is a sports injury insurance policy specifically designed for divers. Therefore, if you suffer diving injury or illness anywhere in the world, you have access to an assistance company and diving doctors who provide expert medical help, pay immediate hyperbaric and medical costs, oversee your treatment and keep your relatives informed.
If you are injured in the UK, or need follow up treatment in the UK following a diving accident in resort, IDEC can provide medical benefits if deemed necessary
