The health and safety of all our participants is paramount. Gap Year Diver Limited, in colaboration with our local dive centres, ground staff and liveaboard vessels, have compiled strict procedures and teaching methods (in line with PADI International) for the well-being of all our divers.

Our dive centres are all accredited by PADI and are inspected for quality control in teaching methods and safety standards / procedures. The diving staff are all trained to EFR instructor level (and above) and they all have many years of diving experience behind them.

Gap Year Diver Limited also receives regular updates regarding resort developments and Foreign Office Travel Advice, thus ensuring that all our gappers have the most up-to-date local and regional developments before embarking on their Gap Year.

Please consult your doctor before travelling as you will probably need certain vaccinations.

Should you have a bad diving experience and need this treatment, it is now immediately available for all divers in Costa Rica, Venezuela, Dahab and Hurghada. In Kenya, Fiji and The Bahamas we are in constant communication with the military and coastguard so that swift treatment can be found. Please bear in mind that recompression can be a lengthy process and expensive. Accidents can occur (just like in other sports) and it is paramount that you have adaquate insurance which will pay for recompression as it can be very expensive.

There are hospitals in all the resorts where we operate with the exception of Fiji when a trip is required to the mainland.

All of our detinations are generally hot / warm and dehydration can occur. Dehydration and diving don't mix well and you are advised to drink plenty of water each day.

A comprehensive list of medical requirements are available in the members' area after you book.
